ABOUT
Hello! Welcome to ipduck guide, a K-Pop Wiki for all fandoms.
Being a K-Pop fan is amazing, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming. There’s a lot to take in, follow, and potentially miss.
If you're a new fan to a group that's been active for a while, you probably want to:
- Familiarize yourself with the members and units
- Listen to songs that have already been released
- Watch their self-produced variety content and vlogs
- Browse fan communities to catch up on the fandom's inside jokes, member dynamics, nicknames, etc.
Why you need us…
These activities are fun, but keeping up with multiple K-Pop groups, each with several members and constant new releases, can be challenging. This is particularly true if you have a life outside of K-Pop (we hope) and if Korean isn't your first language.
Wouldn't it be great if someone compiled the essential information for a lost K-Pop fan in an accessible, concise, and regularly updated way?
MAKESTAR and ipduck guide
In 2024, MAKESTAR decided to publish the ipduck guide to help K-Pop fans around the world.
MAKESTAR is a global entertainment platform based in Seoul, South Korea. Since 2015, we have been connecting fans worldwide (239 countries!) with their favorite K-Pop artists, through:
- Distribution of official merchandise
- Online/offline fandom events
- Digital fandom platforms
- And more to come!
In short, we've seen firsthand the passion and love K-Pop fans have for their favorite idols.
What is “ipduck”?
The name “ipduck” comes from the Korean word “입덕,” which means “the moment you fall in love” with a particular artist or idol, or “the moment you decide you’re a fan.” There have been many fan-made “ipduck guides” over the years for different groups, where a seasoned fan compiles essential information for newcomers.
We hope the ipduck guide serves as a fun starting point when you first become a fan of a group. It provides the basics to get you started and learn even more about them!
Feel free to explore, search for an artist or a term you didn’t understand, share the link with your friends, and more.
As they say in Korea… Welcome to ipduck! There’s no way out.
