MANAGEMENT & FORMATION

• aespa is under Production 1 Center of SM Entertainment (One Production) along with Girls’ Generation and BoA.
• All members of aespa have stage names that are different from the names they were given, and they are the first girl group SM Entertainment to do so.
• As a group, aespa members are capable of speaking 4 languages.
  • Karina and Winter are native speakers of Korean, Giselle is a native speaker of Japanese and English, and Ningning is a native speaker of Chinese.
• aespa debuted 4 years after NCT, and 6 years after another girl group from SM Entertainment, Red Velvet.
• Pre-debut, Ningning was part of the SMROOKIES. All the other 3 members (Karina, Giselle, and Winter) were hidden trainees, although Karina was on Taemin’s "WANT" music video and the subsequent music show promotions of the song.
• For the first time among SM girl groups, a non-Korean member, Ningning is regarded as the “main vocal” of the group.
• All four members of aespa opened their personal Instagram accounts in 2023.

MISCELLANEOUS TRIVIA

• Winter’s blood type is A, Karina’s blood type is B, and Giselle and Ningning have blood type O. There are no members in aespa with blood type AB.
• All members of aespa love spicy pig feet (불족발), which is a popular delivery food item in South Korea
• Pre-debut, the members of aespa have lived in a single room in their dormitory. During the promotion for Next Level, Giselle and Winter were roommates, and Ningning and Karina were roommates. During the promotion for Girls, Ningning and Karina were still roommates, while Giselle and Winter each had a room of their own.
  • Karina said in a livestream on July 1st, 2023, that currently, all members have a room of their own.
• The members have confirmed that Karina, Winter, and Giselle (minus Ningning) love to watch Japanese anime regularly.
• None of the members have younger siblings. Karina has an older sister, and Winter has an older brother. Giselle and Ningning are both an only child.
• The age gap between the oldest member (Karina) and the youngest member (Ningning) is only two years, much smaller compared to their direct predecessors, Red Velvet.
