CAREER SUMMARY
PRE-DEBUT
Yeosang started dreaming of becoming an idol singer when he first watched the stage performance video of BEAST - “Shock.” He had wanted to enroll in a school specialized in the arts, but his parents were against Yeosang pursuing music. Yeosang went to a more academic-focused school on the condition that he would be able to pursue music alongside his studies. Yeosang joined a guitar club in his high school.
Yeosang became a trainee of Bighit Entertainment in 2015. He spent his time as a trainee with Wooyoung, who was also a trainee at Bighit Entertainment. Yeosang left Bighit Entertainment in 2016, upon which he was contacted by six different entertainment agencies. One of those agencies was KQ Entertainment, and Yeosang became a trainee of KQ Entertainment in December 2016.
In 2017, Yeosang participated in the preliminary auditions for the survival audition program produced by YG Entertainment, MIX NINE, but did not make it past the audition rounds.
Yeosang trained for 3.5 years before his debut.
AFTER DEBUT
In 2018, Yeosang debuted as a member of ATEEZ, an 8-member group under KQ Entertainment, with Seonghwa, Hongjoong, Yunho, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho. Upon debut, he received attention for his visuals and deep voice.
Yeosang was the regular MC of THE SHOW (SBS M) from March 2021 to March 2024. From 2021 to 2022, Yeosang had his own segment called “THE Classroom” (formerly Uncommon Classroom) where he learns the key choreography from other idols on THE SHOW.
POSITIONS
VOCAL
Yeosang has the lowest vocal tone in ATEEZ. His deep voice has been used for some of the more noticeable “killing parts” of ATEEZ title tracks such as the intro, the outro, or the bridge of the song. One of Yeosang’s most memorable killing parts include his deep voice in “HALAZIA” for the lyric, ”The little blue bird that lost its voice / I can hear the whispers.” Yeosang’s vocal tones are well-suited for dreamy, ethereal vibes in songs such as “Sector 1” and “Inception.”
DANCE
Yeosang has a quick, nimble style of dancing that is best suited for genres that make use of dense choreography such as fast steps, krumping, and whacking. Yeosang has been receiving more solo dance parts in ATEEZ songs such as “BOUNCY” and “Crazy Form.” As the official visual of ATEEZ, Yeosang often gets the focus at the start and end of ATEEZ performances.
