Idols and MBTI Types ① - NF Edition

MBTI is all the rage in Korea right now! Whether you watch a variety, an interview, a vlog, or a livestream by a K-Pop artist, the topic will come up. Even in a regular conversation with friends, you are guaranteed to have some MBTI talk.

But what do all of the different types mean anyway? 🤯

In this post, we discuss the 4 NF types out of all the 16 MBTI types, and which idols have the NF MBTI types.

What is “MBTI”?

MBTI, short for “Myers-Briggs Type Indictor” is a type of personality assessment test first introduced in 1956 and modernized in the 1980s. Like any other personality type assessment metric, MBTI was used by human resources or educational purposes in Korea.

However, the real popularity of MBTI among the general population (especially for the “MZ generation,” being born between 1982~2008) started around 2020, and now it’s one of the first questions you ask when you go out on a date or meet someone new!

MBTI has 16 personality types, by 4 dichotomies.

What are NF types like?

The “N” and “F” stand for “intuition” and “feeling.” Types that fall under the NF category are INFP, INFJ, ENFP, and ENFJ.

NF types are usually known to be passionate, artistic, sensitive, and in tune with their own emotions and others’.

① INFP (Mediator)

INFPs are empathetic, artistic, idealistic and open-minded. They are very imaginative and passionate, but could sometimes be emotionally vulnerable and self-isolating.

② INFJ (Advocate)

INFJs are altruistic, insightful, creative and morally conscious. They are motivated to work for the greater good, but could feel misunderstood or get defensive.

③ ENFP (Campaigner)
