Idols and MBTI Types ② - NT Edition

MBTI is all the rage in Korea right now! Whether you watch a variety, an interview, a vlog, or a livestream by a K-Pop artist, the topic will come up. Even in a regular conversation with friends, you are guaranteed to have some MBTI talk.

But what do all of the different types mean anyway? 🤯

In this post, we discuss the 4 NT types out of all the 16 MBTI types, and which idols have the NT MBTI types.

What is “MBTI”?

MBTI, short for “Myers-Briggs Type Indictor” is a type of personality assessment test first introduced in 1956 and modernized in the 1980s. Like any other personality type assessment metric, MBTI was used by human resources or educational purposes in Korea.

However, the real popularity of MBTI among the general population (especially for the “MZ generation,” being born between 1982~2008) started around 2020, and now it’s one of the first questions you ask when you go out on a date or meet someone new!

MBTI has 16 personality types, by 4 dichotomies.

What are NT types like?

The “N” and “T” stand for “intuition” and “thinking.” Types that fall under the NT category are INTJ, INTP, ENTJ, and ENTP.

NT types are usually known to be pragmatic, intellectual, analytical, and capable of discovering new ways to improve things.

① INTJ (Architect)

INTJs are intellectual, rational, quick-witted minds. They challenge the status quo with their curiosity and independence. However, they could be too emotionally detached.

② INTP (Logician)

INTPs are analytical, curious, and always eager to learn. They come up with the most original new ideas, but could sometimes be disconnected from reality.

③ ENTJ (Commander)

ENTJs are confident, strategic, and great at self-discipline. They love a challenge, and are natural-born leaders. However, their strong will could come across as cold or stubborn.

ENTPs are playful, energetic, and independent thinkers. They love to debate and are great at quick brainstroming. Their tendency to argue could sometimes result in tension.
