RECORDS & ACCOLADES

Album Sales

  • ITZY has three million-seller albums; CHECKMATE, CHESHIRE, and KILL MY DOUBT.
    • In July of 2022, CHECKMATE sold more than 472k units within the first week of release, which was the third-highest record of album sales within the first week of release by a K-Pop girl group at the timeCHECKMATE was ITZY’s first million-seller abum, selling more than a million units within a month of release.
      • With CHECKMATE, ITZY became the third K-Pop girl group ever to achieve million-seller status, after BLACKPINK and aespa.
    • In December of 2022, CHESHIRE sold more than 633k units within the first week of release, which was the highest record of album sales within the first week of release by a JYP girl group at the time. CHESHIRE was ITZY’s second million-seller album.
      • With CHESHIRE, ITZY became the second girl group to have two million-seller albums after BLACKPINK.
    • In August of 2023, KILL MY DOUBT sold more than 823k units within the first week of release. KILL MY DOUBT was ITZY’s third million-seller album.
  • In 2019, IT’z ICY, ITZY’s first mini album and first physical release, sold 32k copies within the first week of release, which was the second highest number of album sales within the first week of release of a K-Pop girl group debut album at the time.

Charts

  • In 2023, ITZY became the 2nd K-Pop girl group in history to chart 4 different albums for multiple weeks on Billboard 200, with KILL MY DOUBT, CRAZY IN LOVE, CHEKMATE, and CHESHIRE.
    • Counting albums that have charted on Billboard 200 for a single week, ITZY has a total of 6 albums that have entered the chart, with the addition of GUESS WHO and BORN TO BE.
  • In 2024, BORN TO BE reached number one spot on iTunes’ Top Albums chart in 23 regions, including Australia, Brazil, France, Thailand and the U.S.
  • In 2019, “DALLA DALLA” ranked at no.14 on the Melon Year-End Chart, no.11 on the Gaon Year-End Digital Chart, no.2 on the Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales.

Awards

  • ITZY received numerous awards in the category for rookie artists. Some of the most notable ones are:

  • In 2022 and 2023, ITZY received “Artist of the Year” (Bonsang) at The Fact Music Awards.

Other

  • As of April 2024, music videos for the following ITZY title tracks have more than 100 million views on YouTube:
    • “Cheshire,” “SNEAKERS,” “LOCO,” “In the Morning,” “Not Shy,” “WANNABE,” “ICY,” and “DALLA DALLA.”
  • In 2023, the music video for “WANNABE” reached 500 million views on YouTube; becoming the first music video by a 4th gen group to hit the milestone.
  • The music video for “DALLA DALLA” was the quickest debut music video by a K-Pop artist to hit 200 million views on YouTube at the time.
  • In 2024, ITZY’s official Instagram account hit 20 million followers.
  • In 2019, ITZY was the quickest K-Pop girl group to achieve a music show win after debut at the time - achieving the feat just 12 days after debut.

MEMBER STATS

ITZY is known for being a group of all-rounders; all of the members take a relatively even share in vocals, rap, and dance.

Vocals

  • ITZY have been praised for their live vocals, especially in context of their difficult/active choreography. The members each have distinctive voice tones.
    • Yeji, Chaeryeong, and Yuna’s voices shine in the higher register; Yeji often takes the chorus of ITZY title tracks.
    • Lia and Ryujin have lower voice tones than the other three members; Lia, as the main vocal, often sings the most parts in the ballad b-side tracks of ITZY.
    • Yeji and Lia are considered the unofficial “vocal line” of ITZY; Lia is the main vocal, while Yeji is the lead vocal of the group.

Dance

  • ITZY is widely considered as the one of the top dancers among 4th-generation K-Pop girl groupstheir choreography is known for being advanced in comparison to other K-Pop girl groups.
  • ITZY has the title of “a group of main dancers” - the unofficial dance line of the group is Yeji, Ryujin, and Chaeryeong, with Yeji and Chaeryeong being the two main dancers of the group.
    • Yeji, Ryujin and Chaeryeong were all “artists of the month” individually for the YouTube channel Studio Choom.
    • Yeji is often in the center of dance breaks; Chaeryeong is known for her flexibility and mastery; Ryujin has a powerful, crisp dancing style.

Rap

  • Rap verses take up a significant portion of ITZY title tracks.
  • ITZY rap verses range from giddy/lighthearted (fitting their “teencrush” concept) to heavy/punchy.
    • Ryujin, Yuna, and Yeji are considered the unofficial rap line of ITZY.
    • Ryujin is the main rapper of ITZY, while Yuna is the lead rapper; Ryujin has a deep voice, and Yuna has a high-pitched voice, when rapping.

Visual

  • Girl groups from JYP Entertainment have the image of being “natural beauties” - and ITZY was no exception.
  • All of the ITZY members are said to have “cat type” faces; a visual trend that went popular in Korea from the 2020s.
  • Yuna is considered the unofficial visual member of ITZY; many of her fancams, cover stages, and short-form content have gone viral for her visuals, most notably her cover stage of “U-Go-Girl” on the 2022 KBS Song Festival.
