Food

An Yujin loves to eat Korean food. She has once said that if she could do only one thing before dying, it’d be to “have a real proper Korean meal.”
- She prefers rice over bread or noodles.
An Yujin loves tteokboki (Korean rice cakes and fish cakes in spicy sauce), mala tang, and huo guo.
- She prefers spicy food over sweet or rich foods.
An Yujin had been obsessed with tororo soba, a Japanese-style soba noodle dish with Chinese yam, from 2022 to 2023.
An Yujin does not like to eat vegetables, and she says she never eats paprika and bell peppers.
An Yujin likes Korean gukbap (hot soup and rice boiled in ttukbaegi, a type of Korean earthenware) as she says it gives her strength to sing before a performance.
An Yujin used to dislike the mint chocolate flavor but was converted to like mint chocolate flavor by the influence of IVE members such as Rei and Leeseo.
An Yujin prefers carp bread filled with red bean paste to carp bread filled with shu cream, saying that the red bean paste filling feels like the proper version and the shu cream version feels like a bonus.

Hobbies

An Yujin likes to play most sports. She is most confident in jumping ropes and running.
- An Yujin used to be a member of the jumping rope club at school and has received a prize for jumping ropes when she was in elementary school. She has said in 2021 that she can do 50 consecutive double unders.
- An Yujin was also a part of the track team at school, and has shown her impressive running abilities on many variety shows such as Idol Star Atheletics Championships.
- After debut, An Yujin has said that she has become good at Pilates.

An Yujin likes to read and has shown her impressive vocabulary on many variety shows such as Prison Life of Fools and Idol on Quiz.
- She has recommended books such as Wandering Blade and Temperature of Language to her fans.
An Yujin has said that one consistent hobby of hers is taking photos, using both film cameras and smartphone cameras.

An Yujin’s favorite Pokémon is Eevee. Rei bought an Eevee doll for An Yujin after her trip to Japan.
An Yujin’s favorite color is blue, but she says that she also prefers colors like white or black that match with everything.
An Yujin’s favorite flower are roses.
An Yujin does not like to be addressed as “An Yujin” in regular conversation - she prefers to be called “Yujin” without her last name.
An Yujin’s favorite genres of drama/movies are animation, school life, or romance; mostly those that are peaceful and relaxing.
- She has said that she watched almost all episodes of the American show Modern Family.
- She has also mentioned having watched K-Dramas Extraordinary Attorney Woo and My Lovely Sam Soon.
- She has also said that her favorite drama of all time is Mr. Sunshine.

OTHER TRIVIA

An Yujin used to have really bad eyesight; extremely nearsighted at -9.0 (less than 3/200) in 2019.
- However, in 2021, she received the Intraocular lens (IOLs) treatment and does not have to wear glasses anymore.

An Yujin’s fans say that she feels like a “main character” in her own life.
- In her first ever ticketing, she got the first row seats and went to the Melon Music Awards. There, she decided to become an idol, applied to Starship Entertainment, became an official trainee, and appeared as the lead character in a music video.
- All of the above happened in one vacation in 7th grade (first grade of middle school).
- Six years later, she received Daesang (The Best Song of the Year) at the 2022 Melon Music Awards.
An Yujin has said that her MC’ing abilities came from her childhood experiences of having entered a lot of speech competitions or debate competitions when she was young. She has also said that she was often the class president prior to becoming a trainee.
After becoming the leader of IVE, An Yujin said that she often seeks advice from Kwon Eunbi, who was the leader of her former group, IZ*ONE.
An Yujin has said that her role models are Taemin (SHINee) and Dasom (SISTAR) from Starship Entertainment.
An Yujin is also a fan of IU, saying that her clear and pretty voice feels healing.
In 2022, An Yujin uploaded a cover of “Event Horizon” by Younha on her Instagram account. The cover went viral with almost a million likes, and Younha herself commented on the video.
