CAREER SUMMARY
PRE-DEBUT
Liz was born and raised in Jeju Island, South Korea. In 2017, Liz made an appearance in the music video for Taeyeon’s “This Christmas,” playing the part of a younger Taeyeon. Taeyeon had been one of Liz’s biggest role models and had given her inspiration to dream of becoming an idol.
In 2019, at the age of 14, Liz auditioned at the open auditions for the Starship x Pepsi Summer Audition and became a trainee of Starship Entertainment. Liz moved to Seoul with her mother and younger brother to train at Starship Entertainment.
Liz was a trainee for 2 years before her debut as IVE.
AFTER DEBUT
In 2021, Liz debuted as a member of IVE, a 6-member group under Starship Entertainment, with An Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, and Leeseo with “ELEVEN.” Upon debut, Liz received attention for her voice as one of the “vocal lines” of IVE, and her doll-like visuals that were even more highlighted with blonde hair.
In 2023, Liz released a collaboration track and appeared in a music video for “NOBODY,” with Soyeon ((G)-Idle) and Winter (aespa).
POSITIONS
VOCAL
Liz is thought to be one of the “vocal line” along with An Yujin (not an official position). She is called the “vocal tone fairy” (음색 요정) of IVE, with clear tones and dreamy falsetto that suit emotional/sentimental ballads. The “sentimental vocal tone” is a trademark of girl groups from Starship Entertainment, notably Soyou from SISTAR and Seola from WJSN.
Liz has a wide supported range - her “six high notes” in “ROYAL” shows Liz jumping from mid-range to high-range in a single cadence. She has taken some of the most memorable high notes and ad-libs in IVE’s hit title tracks such as “ELEVEN” and “I AM.”
For “IVE x LANY Kollabo Project,” Liz has performed “After LIKE” with LANY and Rei, showing her own version of the song by singing the full pre-chorus and chorus.
DANCE
Liz has been praised for her execution for the detailed parts of IVE choreography, especially for movements that focus on “chest pumps” or make use of a quick burst of muscle strength to the beat. Compared to some of the members in the team, her dance style has been called more powerful and clean, rather than soft and fluid.
