MANAGEMENT AND FORMATION

• The members have become trainees of Starship Entertainment in the chronological order below (from first to last):
  • An Yujin (2016) - Gaeul/Jang Wonyoung (2017) - Rei (2018) - Liz/Leeseo (2019)
• Pre-debut, with the exceptions of An Yujin and Jang Wonyoung who were active as members of IZ*ONE before debuting as IVE, the members were all hidden trainees and were not revealed on the official trainee social media account of Starship Entertainment (@starshipz).
• After the debut team was finalized as the current six members of IVE, the first song they practiced with was “That’s my girl” by Fifth Harmony.
  • After debut, IVE covered the song again for 1theK Originals.

• IVE debuted 5 years and 9 months after the last girl group from Starship Entertainment, WJSN, and 1 year and 7 months after the last idol group from Starship Entertainment, CRAVITY.
• Like the girl groups that have debuted before from Starship Entertainment (SISTAR and WJSN), the second eldest member (An Yujin) is the leader of the group, not the eldest.
• IVE is the first girl group from Starship Entertainment to include a Japanese member, and to have debuted in the second half of the year.
• IVE is the first girl group to debut with re-debuting members that had previously debuted from IZ*ONE, with An Yujin and Jang Wonyoung.
• The members of IVE each have an official representative color.

“SELF-LOVE” CONCEPT

• IVE has their own unique brand of girl crush concept, dubbed the “narcissistic concept” or the “self-love concept.” (자기애 컨셉)
• Rather than taking on the stereotypical powerful/sexy image that one typically associates with the girl crush brand, IVE opted for a more confident and sophisticated image of a girl “who is in love with herself.”
• At first glance, “ELEVEN,” “LOVE DIVE,” and “After LIKE” all seem like typical songs from the point of view of a teenage girl who’s fallen in love; however, these three songs are actually called the “self-love trilogy” and talk about falling in love with oneself.
  • In “ELEVEN,” the protagonist falls in love with oneself, and the image reflected in her own eyes; her life becomes more “colorful.”
  • In “LOVE DIVE,” the protagonist falls even deeper in love, “holding her breath and doing the love dive,” with herself in the mirror.
  • In “After LIKE,” the protagonist convinces herself that it’s not a fleeting feeling of “like” but “love,” telling herself to “not question her feelings.”

MISCELLANEOUS TRIVIA

• At the time of debut (December 1st, 2021), all of the members of IVE were in their teens, and all the members except for Gaeul were legally underage.
  • In 2023, every member except the youngest member, Leeseo, is legally of age.
• An Yujin and Jang Wonyoung had Instagram accounts that were created at the time of IZ*ONE’s disbandment; the other four members, Gaeul, Rei, Liz, and Leeseo did not have Instagram accounts until the second anniversary of their debut.
  • On December 1st, 2023, Gaeul, Rei, Liz, and Leeseo opened their Instagram accounts.
• All members of IVE love to eat fruit; the refrigerator at their dorms are thus always full of seasonal fruits.
• All six members of IVE used to live in a single apartment. Around the promotions for I’ve IVE, their first full-length album, the six members split into two apartments.
  • An Yujin, Liz, and Leeseo live together; Gaeul, Jang Wonyoung, and Rei live together.
• All four blood types could be found within IVE.
