FANDOM NAME MEANING
“Bunnies” implies that the fans are friends to NewJeans, who had consistently been represented as rabbits through official characters.
The fandom is also called the “Tokkies (토끼즈)”, which means “rabbits” in Korean. Each international fandom may use different words from their own language meaning “rabbit/bunnies” to refer to themselves. Alternatively, “Ban Heesoo (반희수),” a transliteration of “Bunnies” in Chinese characters, and also the name of a character from the music video for “Ditto,” is also used to refer to the fandom.
The official fandom name was announced on October 29th, 2022, via the “🐰Debut 100 Days Celebration💙 Special Quiz Show🥕 (🐰데뷔 100일 기념💙 Special Quiz Show🥕)” video uploaded on the official NewJeans YouTube channel.
OFFICIAL LIGHTSTICK
On March 30th, 2023, NewJeans’ official lightstick was made available for purchase on the Weverse Shop, and decoration parts for customizing the lightstick were also released with it. The parts come in with initials for “NJ” and the members’ alphabetic initials.

On October 29th, 2022, NewJeans members announced the official name of the lightstick during the debut 100-day celebration video call on their official social media service, “Phoning.”
The word “binky” means “hopping movement that bunnies make when they are excited or happy.” The hopping of bunnies have been likened to the fans holding up the lightstick with excitement and happiness while enjoying moments with NewJeans.
