CAREER SUMMARY
PRE-DEBUT
When Yeonjun was young, he lived in San Jose, California, for two years.
He has made an appearance in a 2015 Korean commercial for Jin Ramen by Ottogi with a famous Korean baseball player, Ryu Hyun-Jin. Before debuting under Bighit Entertainment, he was also a trainee in Cube Entertainment for 3 months.
He was dubbed “the legendary trainee of Bighit Entertainment,” as he never lost the number 1 spot in the trainee monthly evaluations across all categories of rap, dance, and singing.
Yeonjun was the first member of TXT to be officially revealed in 2019, and his individual teaser videos, two “Introduction Films” went quickly viral, trending on YouTube and gaining 10 million views within 48 hours.
AFTER DEBUT
In 2019, Yeonjun debuted as the eldest member of TXT, a 5-member group under Bighit Entertainment, with Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai with “CROWN.” After his debut, Yeonjun was quickly recognized for his superb dance skills, unique fashion sense, and fluent English.
Yeonjun has stated that he wants to create his own fashion brand sometime in the future. In 2021 Fall/Winter New York Fashion Week, Yeonjun has been on the runway as a model, wearing clothes that he designed himself.
Since 2022, Yeonjun has been chosen as the MC for SBS Inkigayo, along with actress Roh Jeong-eui and actor Seo Beom Jun, until 2024
Yeonjun has songwriting/lyricist credits for a total of 23 TXT tracks.

VOCAL
Yeonjun is generally praised for his vocal skills, especially his falsetto and ad-libs. His vocal tone is quite distinctive, often making him sing the “killing parts” of a song. “Sugar Rush Ride” is one such example, where Yeonjun sings the addictive pre-chorus and chorus, “I can feel / I can’t resist / Your sweet devilish smile,” “Gimme gimme more,” and “Sugar rush-ush.”
RAP
Yeonjun is generally considered as the main rapper (not an official position) of TXT. His unique vocal tones make his rap verses stand out from the song as well. Yeonjun has some notable rap parts in TXT title tracks, such as “LO$ER=LO♡ER” or “Good Boy Gone Bad.” For “Fairy of Shampoo,” a promotional b-side track included in the 2nd mini album, THE DREAM CHAPTER: ETERNITY, Yeonjun has also written his own singing rap verse.
DANCE
Yeonjun is generally considered the main dancer (not an official position) of TXT and also one of the best dancers in 4th gen K-Pop boy groups. He has released many cover dances, both male and female idols. Yeonjun also likes learning new choreographies, and random dance challenge is one of his forte, as shown in Channel Fullmoon’s Special5 - HYBE episode in 2022. On V-LIVE, he has a livestream series called “The fundamentals of dance by Yeonjun,” where he dances choreographies upon requests by fans.
Yeonjun has created the TikTok dance challenge for “PS5”, a collaboration track with Yeonjun, Taehyun, Alan Walker, and salem ilese. The dance challenge was used more than 15,000 times within 3 days.
